To take advantage of retargeting,you will need to add a snippet of code into the footer of your site.Each time users visit your site they are added to a list that the code creates via browser “cookies.” This is your retargeting list.This list of users is shown ads you provide to your retargeting vendor. Retargeting is conducted via ad exchanges that the ad agency or retargeting vendor works with as users continue to surf around the web. The exchanges aggregate content across sites and share that cookie information to re-identify target users.Exchange also implies that agencies and brands can bid on certain criteria targeting users, using what is called real-time bidding or RTB. It is real time because servers only have fractions of a second to decide which advertiser’s ads will be shown when a targeted browser calls a server for a page.
